In our journey to create and increase the Sharing Economy/Collaborative Consumption awareness in Turkey, we have achieved our first milestone of a big event with 15 initiatives/start-ups and 170 'sharers'. The 2.5 hours flew at light-speed as we discussed what is happening globally, the transformations and initiatives the courageous and visionary people are driving in Turkey, and what are still the opportunities and the barriers that exist.
It was amazing to see that there are indeed miracles happening, and Turkey is catching up fast in collaborative consumption.
15 awesome initiatives from ride-sharing (www.sharemyfare.com) to library of stuff (www.esyakutuphanesi.com), from an innovative idea on booksharing (www.bookserf.com) to sharing food with university students (www.askidanevar.com), from crowd-funding (www.fonlabeni.com and www.biayda.com) to clothes-swapping (www.facebook.com/GiysiTakasi) shared their experience and learnings. The very courageous Ruzgar, who is planning to road-trip Europe in 11 months only by sharing and borrowing stuff impressed us with his vision, plans and enthusiasm. We have also been delighted to host Dalma Berkovics from OuiShare, enlightening us with how fast the Collaborative Economy is growing in Eastern Europe and how EE and Turkey can build on the synergies for a more collaborative world.
We took note of so many innovative ideas, discussion points and next steps around how to collaborate with commercial companies in the sharing economy, how we can better collaborate among the sharing economy initiatives to create a critical mass etc..
We are posting the individual presentations. While these are all in Turkish (with the exception of OuiShare's), we will be delighted to provide you with more information, should you contact us, or send an e-mail to the individual initiatives.
